Ludwig Bemelmans (1898-1963) was born in the Austrian Tirol, coming to the United States in 1914.
Although best known for his children's books, he also wrote fiction, on subjects he knew best: hotels,
traveling, and Hollywood. His art was displayed in exhibitions around the world as well as magazines such
as the New Yorker.

The New York Times Book Review, Edward Sorel:
"The text is decidedly upbeat,
and the art, of course, sublimely so....
this book is irresistible."
